Description
Developed for the C20XE—the legendary Vauxhall/Opel ‘Red Top’—this SKADI kit supports an engine still prized in fast-road, rally, track and conversion builds. This configuration is an engine-code-based 16-row full-flow remote-filter relocation engine-oil-cooler kit with a K&N oil filter for Vauxhall / Opel applications using the C20XE engine. It combines a black SKADI AN-10 cooler, 4m cut-to-length hose and the listed fittings and oil-system hardware. Vehicle-specific cooler mounting brackets are not included.

Construction and design
Naturally aspirated 16-valve inline-four renowned in road, competition and engine-swap builds. The system uses a black aluminium 16-row cooler, SKADI AN-10 nylon-braided hose and straight, 45-degree and 90-degree fittings for flexible routing. The relocation hardware moves the oil filter away from its original mounting point. As an SKO-4 engine-code kit, it does not include vehicle-specific brackets for mounting the cooler to the car.
Cooling performance
Track use, sustained high rpm and tuned applications can place greater demand on oil-temperature control. Additional oil-cooling capacity is particularly relevant where a C20XE is used at sustained high rpm or beyond its original road specification. The compact 16-row core adds dedicated heat-exchanger area while remaining easier to package in tighter installations. This full-flow version routes oil through the cooler whenever the engine is running.
Fitment notes
Engine-code kit catalogued for Vauxhall / Opel Astra / Calibra / Cavalier (E / F / A), 1987–1996. Engine-code compatibility does not confirm vehicle-specific cooler placement or hose routing; verify the exact filter interface, sealing face, centre-spigot engagement and available clearance. The 4m hose is cut to suit the chosen cooler location. Vehicle-specific cooler brackets are not included; fabricate or source secure mounts in a suitable airflow position.
Important: Professional installation is recommended. Check clearance around the oil-filter connection, fittings and hose routes. Keep hoses clear of exhaust heat and moving parts, pressure-test the completed circuit, prime the oil system and confirm oil pressure with no leaks before driving. Mount the cooler securely and check clearance to bodywork, airflow paths and surrounding components. This version is non-thermostatic, so monitor oil temperature and avoid over-cooling during low-load or cold operation. Choose a secure, accessible remote-filter position and verify hose movement and service access.
