Toyota MR2 Oil Cooler Kit – Perfect Fit for MR-S 1ZZ-FE (1999-2007)
This direct-fit oil cooler kit is designed specifically for the Toyota MR-S (1ZZ-FE engine, 1999-2007) and includes vehicle-specific brackets for a seamless installation. The included images show exactly where the cooler will sit once installed on your MR2.
Adding an oil cooler to your MR2 helps extend engine life and reliability by keeping oil temperatures within optimal ranges, especially during spirited driving. By maintaining oil temperatures below 145°C, you ensure that the oil retains its lubricating properties, which is crucial for engine health.
This complete kit comes with 4 meters of AN-10 black nylon braided hose, which we prefer over stainless steel for its ease of installation and reduced risk of damage from contact with other components. It also includes a thermostatic sandwich plate to help your MR2’s engine oil warm up faster. The thermostat ensures oil only passes through the cooler when necessary, preventing overcooling during colder months or in less demanding conditions.
The cooler itself is a 16-row unit, measuring 25cm x 12.5cm x 5cm. This size is ideal for compact cars like the MR2, providing effective cooling without taking up too much space. If you need more cooling power, check out our larger coolers and fan shroud options for enhanced airflow.
The included sandwich plate mounts under the oil filter, spacing it 20mm farther out, so be sure to check for clearance. It also features 2 x 1/8 NPT ports, perfect for adding turbo oil feeds or sensor gauges if needed.
This kit comes with six AN-10 forged fittings (2 straight, 2 at 45°, and 2 at 90°, anodized in black). You’ll only need four of these, so choose the ones that suit your setup best.
